Phosphate Fertilizer Production Line
Home » Fertilizer Production Lines » Phosphate Fertilizer Production Line
A phosphate fertilizer production line is a complete industrial system designed to convert phosphate rock into high-value phosphorus fertilizers such as Single Super Phosphate (SSP), TSP, and SOP.
If you are planning to build an SSP fertilizer plant, our turnkey solution provides full engineering design, equipment manufacturing, installation, and commissioning support.
We help investors and fertilizer manufacturers build profitable and efficient fertilizer production plants worldwide.
✅ Custom capacity: 1–20 TPH
✅ Full EPC service
✅ High conversion efficiency
✅ Environmental compliance
Types of Phosphate Fertilizer Production Lines
We provide customized solutions for different phosphorus fertilizers:
• SSP Fertilizer Production Line
Single Super Phosphate fertilizer with 16–20% P₂O₅.
Low investment cost and widely used in developing agricultural markets.
• TSP Fertilizer Production Line:
Triple Super Phosphate fertilizer with 44–46% P₂O₅.
High nutrient concentration and lower transportation costs.
• SOP Fertilizer Production Line
Potassium sulfate fertilizer produced through the Mannheim process.
High-value fertilizer suitable for fruits, vegetables, and cash crops.
Raw Materials for Phosphate Fertilizer Production Line
The main raw materials used in phosphate fertilizer production include:
Phosphate Rock
Primary phosphorus source, ground into fine powder to increase reaction efficiency.
Sulfuric Acid / Phosphoric Acid
Used in the acidulation process to convert phosphate rock into soluble phosphorus fertilizers.
Potassium Chloride (for SOP)
Reacted with sulfuric acid in a Mannheim furnace to produce potassium sulfate.
Additives and Conditioners
Materials such as limestone, gypsum, or bentonite improve granule strength and nutrient balance.
Water
Required for granulation, cooling, and process control.
Phosphate Fertilizer Production Process
Crushing & Grinding: Phosphate rock is crushed and ground into a fine powder to ensure complete chemical reaction.
Acidulation / Reaction: The powder is mixed with sulfuric or phosphoric acid in a reactor. This “aging” process converts the phosphorus into a plant-available form.
Granulation: The reacted material (or slurry) is fed into a rotary drum or disc granulator where it forms into uniform granules.
Drying & Cooling: High-temperature drying removes moisture to prevent caking, followed by cooling to prepare for storage.
Screening: The granules are screened; qualified products move to the next step, while others are recycled back to the granulator.
Coating (Optional): A thin layer of oil or wax can be applied to prevent moisture absorption.
Packaging: The final product is automatically weighed, filled into bags, and sealed for distribution.
Complete SSP Fertilizer Production Line Solution
A complete phosphate fertilizer plant typically includes the following equipment systems:
Crushing Equipment
Vertical crushers and grinding machines for raw material preparation.
Acid Reaction Equipment
Acid-proof mixers and reactors designed for chemical reactions.
Granulation Equipment
Rotary drum granulators that shape fertilizer particles into uniform spheres.
Drying and Cooling Equipment
Rotary dryers and coolers remove moisture and stabilize granule temperature.
Screening Equipment
Vibrating screens separate qualified fertilizer particles.
Automatic Packaging Equipment
Automated weighing and packaging machines for efficient bagging.
Phosphate Fertilizer Production Line Price
The cost of a phosphate fertilizer plant depends on several factors:
Fertilizer type (SSP, TSP, SOP)
Production capacity
Equipment configuration
Automation level
Anti-corrosion material requirements
Typical investment range:$30,000 – $500,000+
